Code of Conduct

Behavior Expectations, Policies, & Procedures

In an effort to support the positive actions of the vast majority of students, disciplinary action will result when students fail to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner.  A pupil may be disciplined for acts which are related to school activity or attendance which occur at any time, including, but not limited to, any of the following:

  1. While on school grounds
  2. While going to or coming from school
  3. Off campus during school hours
  4. During, or while going to or coming from, a school sponsored activity
Students must assume responsibility for their behavior. The student is expected to obey all rules and regulations developed by the BOUSD District, the BCHS staff and each classroom teacher.  Failure to obey the rules will result in one of the following depending on the severity of the incident: parent call; referral to the office; in-house suspension; parent/student/teacher conference; suspension from class; suspension from school; schedule change; and/or involuntary transfer. Every reasonable effort shall be made to change a student’s inappropriate behavior through alternative means before implementing the most severe action such as suspension, expulsion, or transfer.
