Beginning in School Year (SY) 2022–23, California will become the first state to implement a statewide Universal Meals Program for all school-aged children. California’s Universal Meals Program is designed to build on the foundations of the federal National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) to include both a nutritiously adequate breakfast and lunch for all children each school day.
Are you sending meals from home? Your child(ren) can still choose Milk, Fruit, and Vegetables( must take all three) for FREE.
*Parents: Please have your child(ren) remember a 9digit student's ID number to participate in the breakfast and lunch program. ( Jr. and High school students must bring student ID cards).
Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand. The Food Service department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well-being, and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.
Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.
School meals offer students milk, fruits and vegetables, proteins, and grains, and they must meet strict limits on saturated fat and portion size.
We’re always working to offer Brea Olinda students healthier and tastier choices. School meals are a great value and a huge convenience for busy families, too!
